During my undergrad days at Indiana University I was recruited to join a team for the summer researching coho salmon habitat in Washington state’s Olympic National Forest. It was my first exposure to the Pacific Northwest, free-flowing mountain streams and rivers, and salmon. My subsequent path veered a bit from the environment, but I’ve since earned a graduate degree to help guide environmental policy.
